▸ How much does therapy cost at EMERGE?

Please go to our cost page to learn about the sliding scale fee system we use at EMERGE. When you call us, we'll ask you a few questions and share with you what your affordable price will be!

▸ Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?

No, we have a sliding scale fee system based on your yearly household income and the number of people living in your house. This allows us to provide affordable therapy to a broad range of socioeconomic needs in our community.

▸ What types of counselors are at EMERGE?

We have three types of counselors at the Spartanburg clinic: Masters Level Students, Post Degree Clinicians, and LMFTs and LPCs. We only have Masters Level Students at the Greenville clinic.

▸ Do you have any medical doctors (MDs) or psychiatrists?

No, we do not have any MDs or psychiatrists on staff. All of our clinicians are therapists.

▸ Do your therapists prescribe medications?

No, EMERGE does not have any psychiatrists or medical doctors on staff to prescribe medications.

▸ Do you offer therapy to children?

Yes, we offer therapy to people of all ages! We provide counseling to children, families, couples, and individuals.

Many of our clinicians specialize in play therapy, a technique that helps children and teens express themselves and learn coping skills, encouraging healthy development.

▸ Do you offer anger management classes?

Yes, anger management classes are currently being offered on a weekly basis at our Spartanburg Clinic. The cost is $25 per class. Payment is due on and before each class begins.

▸ How long does a therapy session last?

Almost all of our therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length.

▸ How late are you open?

Our last appointments in the evening begin at 7pm, to ensure that all of our sessions are complete by 8pm, when the clinics close.

Our counselors

▸ What are Masters Level Students?

Masters Level Students are pursuing their master's degree in Marriage & Family therapy, and are enrolled in our clinical practicum. They operate using the sliding scale fee system.

We have Masters Level Students at our Spartanburg and Greenville clinics.

▸ What are Post Degree Clinicians?

Post Degree Clinicians have obtained their master's degree and are pursuing full licensure as an LMFT or LPC. They are enrolled in our Post-Degree Institute. They operate using the sliding scale fee system.

We have Post Degree Clinicians only at our Spartanburg clinic.

▸ What are LMFTs and LPCs?

LMFTs are Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, and LPCs are Licensed Professional Counselors. Neither use the sliding scale fee system, and therefore accept most insurance plans.
