Staff Therapists

  • Liz Cain, LMFT

    Liz Cain is a staff therapist with Emerge. She has an Educational Specialist Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University, and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

    She was a Clinical Fellow in Emerge’s Post Degree Institute. During this time, her work was with adolescents in a residential facility, and their families. In this setting, she began to specialize in trauma and repairing the destructive relationships and ineffective behavioral patterns within these broken families. She also regularly works on conflict resolution in relationships, as well as anger management, depression, grief, and anxiety. . She currently works with adolescents, couples, and families (both traditional and non-traditional).

  • Aaron Dorsett, LMFT

    Aaron is a staff therapist at Emerge. He has a Master’s of marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University.

    Before joining Emerge he was a Clinical Fellow in Emerge’s Post Degree Institute receiving further training and supervision in play therapy.

    Aaron is an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and aims to help client’s live life as their authentic selves. He is passionate about working with teens and adults in the LGBTQ+ community.

  • Tommy Eubanks, LMFT

    Tommy Eubanks is a staff therapist with EMERGE. He has a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University.

    Before joining Emerge as a Staff Therapist, he was a Clinical Fellow in Emerge’s Post Degree Institute, with a focus on adolescent anxiety and depression.

    He has a passion for working with individuals on the autism spectrum, and he enjoys working with adolescents, families, and young adults.

  • Sherry Kay Fulmer, LMFT, RPT (she/her/hers)

    Sherry Kay is a staff therapist with Emerge. She has a Master’s of Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University.

    Before joining emerge she was a Clinical Fellow in Emerge’s Post Degree Institute receiving further training and supervision in play therapy.

    She is an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and aims to help clients live life as their authentic selves. Sherry Kay has additional training in treating anxiety in children and adolescents and Theraplay. She has a passion for working with individuals, children, adolescents and families. She specializes in play therapy and anxiety in children and adolescents.

  • Sarah Gervais, LMFT, RPT

    Sarah Gervais, LMFT, RPT, is EMERGE’s Continuing Education Director, a Staff Therapist, and an LMFT and RPT Supervisor Candidate. She teaches play therapy courses at EMERGE and supervises clinicians in EMERGE'S Post-Degree Institute. She also supervises graduate students in their clinical practicum.

    She has a bachelor's degree in psychology from North Greenville University and a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University. She received further training and supervision in play therapy in the Post-Degree Institute at EMERGE. Sarah enjoys working with children, adolescents and families.

  • Ross Hill, LMFT/S, AADC, CS

    Ross Hill is a staff therapist with Emerge. He has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Sociology from Wofford College and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University.

    Before returning to Emerge he worked with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and relational problems in an outpatient setting, including collaboration with local programs such as Drug Court and Veterans’ Court. Ross enjoys working with men's issues, relationship problems (including nontraditional relationship structures), addiction, depression, and other phase of life challenges.

  • Hitha Srivatsan, CCH, LMFT

    Hitha Srivatsan is a staff therapist with Emerge. she has special training and skill in interviewing and diagnosing clients, then counseling them and treating any mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage and family.

    She was a Clinical Fellow in Emerge’s Post Degree Institute. She has degrees as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapist from Converse University.

  • Monique Watson, LPC, LAC

    Monique Watson, LPC, is a staff therapist with Emerge as well as the Diversity and Collaboration Director.

    She has been in private practice in Spartanburg since 1998. licensed professional counselor and advocate for mental health in Spartanburg.

    She specializes in CBT and provides support to adults in areas such as depression, career transitions, communication, couples, cultural sensitivity, military service members, life transitions, anger management, and relationship building.

  • Sara Parker, LMFT

    Sara Parker, LMFT is a staff therapist with Emerge as well as the Operations Director.

    She was an Administrative and Clinical Fellow in Emerge’s Post Degree Institute. She has a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Graduate Students

We have a rotating cohort of Master in Marriage and Family Therapy students, overseen by our supervisors, who provide counseling at EMERGE as they complete the clinical practicum portion of their master’s program. Our outstanding students are the future of the field!

  • Precious Daugherty, LMFT-A

  • Alexis Hunter, MMFT

    LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, military, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, depression, relationships, life transitions. Teens, adults, couples and families.

    Alexis’ strengths include: connectedness, arranger, positivity, developer, and context.

  • Ann Kent, LMFT-A

    Play therapy, teens, young adults, divorce/separation, life transitions, self-esteem and grief.

    Ann’s strengths include individualization, discipline, relator, developer and harmony.

  • Jasmine Necaise, LMFT-A

    Play Therapy, Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, and Military/First Responders and their families.

  • Hunter Shock, MMFT

  • Alana Starwalt, MMFT

    Trained in art therapy, families, children with special needs, ADHD, Children and Young Adults with Autism, LGBTQIA+, parenting, play therapy and self-esteem.

    Alana’s strengths include strategic, restorative, connectedness, responsibility and relator.

  • Elysia St. George, MMFT

    LGBTQIA+, Non-Monogamy/Polyamory Individuals and Couples, Political Orientation, Stress, Self-esteem, Identity Work, Life Transitions, Couples, Teens, Adults, and Families. Elysia’s aspiration in therapy is to create a safe space to have discussions around uncommon topics such as politics, sex, and religion.

    Elysia’s strengths include activator, WOO, positivity, communication, and adaptability.
